Ludlow Taylor School

dc greenworks developed a master plan for implementing greening strategies for the courtyard at Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School.  Our project goal was to green the existing courtyard in order to provide a deeper connection to nature, as well as educational opportunities for the students, teachers, parents, and community.  This outdoor classroom consisted of three distinct garden learning areas; a native garden, pollinator garden, and urban agriculture vegetable garden.  The pollinator and vegetable gardens are both irrigated by a 350 gallon rain barrel that captures rainwater from the above roofs.

Funded by a donation from the Jordanian Embassy in DC, dc greenworks lead a dedicated group of students, staff and parents, bringing the garden to life.
