the DC Greenworks experience
We are changed by our environment as much as we change it. Our goal is to create communities of awareness and action— to get local citizens intimately involved with their surroundings, themselves and each other.
As facilitators of change, DC Greenworks cultivates a “culture of stewardship”. Through our projects, we demystify the environment, break people out of comfort zones, and strengthen communities block by block. To make this change, DC Greenworks utilizes an interactive teaching and modeling approach that is engaging and meaningful.
Opportunities to participate include:
- a ‘roof raising’ (building a green roof)
- constructing a rain garden
- installing rain barrels
- lending a hand at the DCG office on research and operations!

Our Volunteer opportunities are on a limited basis, as installations are scheduled, and projects sites allow. Not all installations allow for volunteer opportunities.
DC Greenworks relies upon individuals to assist us with a broad range of programs and projects.
